How I Staged My Home And Sold My House Quickly

When my house was up for sale, I met a lot of real estate agents and each realtor was very specific and categorically told me that I had to stage my home. I did not know what it was, ‘staging a home’ was a phrase new to me and when I asked them what it was, they told me that I had to make my house look good and attractive without any flaws. Each flaw would be highlighted by prospective buyers and they would ask to reduce my asking price and hence staging was necessary,

I found the realtors thinking reasonable and headed out to stage my home. It is not as easy as it sounds but is not difficult too.

  • To stage my home, I had to first ensure that the house was not cluttered. I removed all the additional furniture, our personal memorabilia etc and rented storage units West Palm Beach and placed them there. Once this was done, I had the rooms painted to improve the lighting in the house as paint can improve the overall look of your house. I also ensured that maximum natural light entered our home as well as air by opening the windows. Always do this as natural light and a lot of air will make the home look good.

  • The kitchen and the bathroom need to be clean. The faucets need to be working in both the rooms. The appliances in the kitchen should be in good working condition. Even if one of them is not working properly, the buyer will try to negotiate on the prices blaming the appliances for it.
  • The bedroom is another room that needs to signify relaxation. We spend one-third of our lives in the bedroom so the bedroom paint should be in such shades that promote rest and relaxation. You can check the various paints that are available for bedrooms and select the one that suits you. Keep the bedroom also de-cluttered, let the buyer visualize staying in your bedroom, if the buyer is able to visualize staying there, then half the sale is complete.

  • The exterior of your house is very important and often overlooked. Just think, what is the first thing that a prospective buyer will see, naturally, it will be the exterior of your house. You need to ensure that the exteriors are well painted and this includes the main door. If you have a lawn keep it clean and neat too.

These steps will ensure a quick sale.
